The mystery of a guitar setup that is intonation. It ain't always just moving saddles.

Guitar intonation is affected by 10 things, directly. If any of these things are out of sorts, the guitar will not tune right or sound good. Of course, there's always the riddle of the B string. The problem with this is that the guitar is an instrument of 4th's. Except the B string, which is a 3rd. But that's a conversation for another day.

Check out this great article below about intonation issues. There are only 9 things listed, but I said 10. The 10th one is the player. With everything, the player is always central.

"You mean I should have a professional guitar setup done on a brand new guitar?". Exactly!

Even the manufacturers know that new guitars, right off the factory floor, are in need of this service. While the techs at the factories do their best to setup the guitars to "factory spec", that spec is not right for most players.

It doesn't matter if you're a beginner or a pro, the guitar needs to be set up for you! On top of the fact that things change during shipping and storage. Or someone at your local retailer decided to change some things. Whatever the case is, make sure to get all of your guitars set up by a local professional that will do a custom job. Your guitar will play better, sound better, feel better.... everything.

And you will be much happier playing it.
